Carsten and I had such a blast performing for Mary + Peter’s wedding. The ceremony was held in Rutledge Chapel located on the University of South Carolina’s historic Horseshoe. Every details from the flowers to the dress was beautiful.
We played about twenty minutes of prelude music. We performed traditional classical prelude music and added a little snippet of “Mia and Sebastian’s Theme” from the musical La La Land. When the ceremony began, we played “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” as the family walked down. One of my favorite moments was performing our arrangement of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked which had been requested by the bride to precede immediately her walk down the aisle. Right before the doors opened, we began the traditional “Canon in D”. At the end of the ceremony, we performed Lynne Latham’s arrangement of “Ode to Joy” as they walked out as a newly married couple. We wrapped up the ceremony music by performing a livelier version of “Autumn Leaves” as guests left for the reception.
We were very fortunate to have Mallori Ma spare a few moments to take a few photos of us playing at the wedding. All the photos in the post are thanks to her and her husband, Kevin. You can reach her website here.
All of the other vendor were incredible and such a joy to work with. I highly recommend checking them out on social media:
